I had to tackle some unique challenges:
A keepsake book on a budget - By being conservative with full color printing and choosing inexpensive yet richly textured paper the production cost was low but the look of quality was still achieved.
Volunteer contributors - Using the scrap book style in the design allowed copy from several sources to be combined into a singular layout.
Memorabilia from residents - By training a few volunteers on how to scan and creating filing conventions for the collected pieces I was able to stay on deadline and keep all the pieces in correct chronology.
Yes this is a project that is several years old but because the lessons and skills I learned in seeing this through are still relevant I continue to feature it in my portfolio. And it was a huge success for the client - they had requests to ship to relocated residents across the country and demand for the book increased gala dinner attendance.
